From the album Grimoire

Lyrics

A tale dreamt from a tender age he realised mortality
The rope tailed to the branches of a tree
Where the other end was placed firmly around his neck

Growing constantly, one day it would be the death of him
Like a hanging guillotine waiting to drop
A sense of doom was never far from his thoughts

Tossing and turning at night

"Relax, it’ll be over in no time."

O’ The branches grow
Pulling my neck tight, I’m gasping for life
This oak holds the depression that lives inside of me

A dark depression grew
The tears rolled off his cheeks
Watering the soil that holds his fate

The branches burst with growth, spiralling towards the clouds
Soaring through the skies, his lungs clenched tight

A life lived in fear, without possibility of hope
It strangled his thoughts and bit like the snake ate its own tail
A constant loop, weeping because he was too scared and scared because he couldn’t help but weep

O’ The branches grow
Pulling my neck tight, I’m gasping for life
This oak holds the depression that lives inside of me
